FingerPrint Data Systems UK enables Unisoft’s GI Reporting Tool to integrate with Health Edge’s computerised traceability program – Tracker Scope.
FingerPrint Data Systems UK has developed a software interface tool set which enables Unisoft’s GI Reporting Tool to integrate seamlessly with Health Edge’s computerised traceability program – Tracker Scope.
Unisoft’s GI Reporting Tool records the individual endoscope used during each endoscopy procedure. The endoscope is identified by the model name (also known as the description) concatenated with the unique serial number.
Health Edge’s computerised traceability program – Tracker Scope – tracks each endoscope through the decontamination process, including manual wash, automated washer reprocessing and storage. Tracker Scope produces a tracer label at the end of the decontamination process. This tracer label has a bar code that identifies the endoscope and the unique lot number.
The lot number is a unique identifier for the details of the decontamination process for that particular endoscope, as stored in Tracker Scope. The tracer label is usually affixed to the patient’s paper record.
With this interface in place Unisoft links its own database with that of Tracker Scope, via Unisoft’s Instrument table.
When a new instrument is added to Tracker Scope, an occurrence of that record is also written to Unisoft’s Instrument table. Inside Unisoft’s GI Reporting Tool, when the endoscopist is entering a procedure’s details, the user has a field for recording the endoscope used. With the Tracker Scope functionality enabled, this field becomes responsive to a bar code.
The Tracker Scope tracer label is scanned in when the Unisoft procedure screen is visible. It automatically puts the endoscope model name and serial number into the field. It also records the lot number.
When the Unisoft report is printed it includes the endoscope model and serial number.
A report can be produced using the Unisoft GI Auditors Kit that shows the patients that have been scoped by a particular model. Then the Endoscope decontamination reports can be produced using the Tracker Scope program.
